- Fort Aguada dates back to the 17th century. It was built by the Portuguese and is surrounded by a moat. Today, it has the Fort Aguada beach resort in its vicinity
- The Basilica of Bom Jesus houses the last remains of St Francis Xavier. Se Cathedral and Church of St Francis of Assisi are also of interest due to the elegance of their architecture
- The Anjuna flea market takes place every Wednesday and sells a range of knick-knacks
- The Braganza House near Margao is an example of Portuguese architecture

- Goa has party-prone beaches as well as secluded ones. Candolim, Calagute, Baga and Anjuna are the most popular beaches while Colva, Palolem and Benaulim lying in south Goa are the quieter ones
- There are a number of islands near Goa. Grande Island is one of the best known ones. One can spend the day here fishing and snorkeling and exploring the rich marine life
- Authentic Ggoan cuisine can be quite mouth-watering. Chicken shacuti, pork sorpatel and pork vindaloo are signature dishes. One can also get a taste of Goa’s own drink – fenni (made of cashew nuts)
- Spice farms and Elephant farms are worth a visit
