Bhubhaneshwar has over 600 Hindu temples, most of them representative of the architecture of the Kalinga dynasty. The areas of historical relevance sit comfortably alongside the modern part of Bhubhaneshwar which was constructed in 1946 by German architect Otto Köonigsberger.
